Bedroom Pre Paint

Those of you that know me know how messy rooms can drive me crazy. Needless to say I was on pins and needles yesterday as we started taking down our waterbed and cleaning out drawers. This is a picture of the pile "stuff" that accumulated on our bed.

And we have this much stuff because??? Craig finally got rid of Structure pants that he had from before we were married.

You can tell in this picture that we took down all wall hangings and filled all the nail holes.

Here goes the bed. Bye bye big ol waterbed! I won't miss you at all!! :)

And the room is cleared. Now onto sanding and painting today. Hopefully.... I'll update with more pics when I get the chance.

The End.

A Sweet Treat For A Sweet Friend!

I have this dear sweet caring friend who hasn't been feeling very well for the last week. To top everything off she had to have an out of office procedure done this afternoon. All went well thankfully, but I decided that she needed a little sweet cheering up her way. So I decided to make her this simple yummy treat. Here's the recipe along with a few pictures.

Crispix Mix
1 box Crispix cereal
1 c. nuts (optional)
1 c. butter
3/4 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
2 packages apple chips (optional)

Preheat the over to 250 degrees. Melt the butter, sugar and cinnnamon together in the microwave. Usually around 1 minute and 30 seconds. Wisk to make sure everything is nice and melted. Pour cereal in a big bowl. Pour melted mixture on top of cereal and mix together. Then pour onto a pan of your choice and bake for 35-40 minutes.

This my friends is what comes out of the oven. All warm and crunchy. YUMMY!!!

I bagged up a bit in some tissue paper along with a card and plan to drop it off this afternoon. Feel better soon my sweet friend! :)

Birthday present or work??

So..it's my birthday. I didn't start off with that to beg for any well wishes or anything. It totally has to do with this entire post. I promise. This weekend we went to my mom's to celebrate my birthday and my brother's birthday. I get to mention mine first because...well I'm older. Good enough reason. Anyway...on the way to my mom's Craig and I decided to go look at bedroom furniture. We've been talking for a month or so about "redoing" our room. At first that meant new furniture...ONLY. But as of last night I have new paint sitting on my backporch floor. New furniture to arrive on Friday March 5th and numerous new bed linens saved on my computer favorites for Craig to choose from when he gets home. This new furniture is my "birthday present" so to speak. Currently we have a king sized waterbed. Those that have owned waterbeds previous to a regular bed know how much of a pain it is to drain, disassemble and get rid of a waterbed. We are now t-minus 10 days until the bed must be taken down, other furniture removed, drawers cleaned out and walls painted before my new furniture arrives. Quite an undertaking. Certainly not what this project consisted of just a month ago. But isn't that how all things go. I'll post pictures as we go along. Should be a fun time....right??

Is the end actually in site?

We were very fortunate yesterday to squeeze into the pediatric pulmonologist. There just happened to be a cancellation...so we jumped! Sadie is seeing Dr. Riva. She diagnosed her with asthma due to her chest x-rays, wheezing and coughing. We are now on an inhaler twice a day sick or well. She also has breathing treatments for wheezing and coughing as needed. In 6 weeks we head back to Dr. Riva for a recheck consisting of an evaluation and a chest x-ray. If the spot on her lung is still there then we will proceed to a CT scan and a bronchoscope. Sadie has to be sedated for both of these procedures. Hopefully it won't come to that. But it's still in the back of our minds. We are praying that this asthma medicine works and makes everything disappear like magic! I will keep you all updated if anything changes. Thank you for your prayers. They are working!!

February....where did you come from?!?!

Needless to say it has been WAY too long since I've updated this blog. Sorry for that. I'll try to do better. At least make it a goal to set aside more time to dedicate to this. Anywho...I'll just update you on everyone and everything that has been going on. Let's start with Craig!

Criag's fine. He's great! Wonderful in fact. Lovin life!! That's really all there is to say here. He doesn't do much...just work and play with the kids, occasional hunting here and there. In fact, he did go hunting on Sunday. The last day of pheasant and quail season. That was the only time he went. I'm not sure why. He had a great time though. Cody went with him Sunday afternoon and had a lot of fun too.

I've been busy with running kids here and there and trying to sell this house. We've had a couple of awesome leads. Now it's just the wait and see game. We are in no hurry. everyone asks us what we are going to do when the house does sell. I just smile and answer, "That's a really good question.". We don't have any plans persay. It's all in God's hands. I'm sure that we will wind up somewhere. Craig says to look at it like an adventure, so that's what I'm doing. An adventure. Besides the house I've been on a health kick...kind of. More like an exercise kick I guess. I'm back on the P90X, WiFit and running daily. That's three workouts a day. I'm ready to crash by 8. Plus I'm trying to stick to a strict calorie diet. These mini twix bars sitting in front of me really aren't helping. Thanks for dropping those off Dad! :)

It seems like Hanah is going nonstop. And it's only going to get worse next year. If she doesn't have basketball practice, or a game of some kind, she is usually busy with homework, AR reading and on the computer talking to "the boyfriend". I told Craig last night that I think MSN messenger is replacing the telephone. He immediately told Hanah that she was grounded from the computer for forever. We will see how that one turns out.

Little Miss Halie. She's into everything to do with hair, makeup, jewelry and of course nail polish. The dreaded nail polish!! I didn't mind it when she would ask ME to paint her nails. But Miss Independent needs to do EVERYTHING on her own. She's also on this kick of wanting to take her lunch to school every day. She says that she's saving money. Diane Sawyer told her that the economy is bad. I told her that sometimes it's worth the money to just eat at school. And that Diane Sawyer isn't always right.

Cody. Playstation. That about sums it up. When the snows goes away Cody will come back out to play.

Then of course there is Sadie. Growing and changing every moment of every day. She got her first molar tooth last week. But in the process she caught a cold and now has pneumonia. This is the 4th time in 8 months. We now have to go to a pediatric pulmonologist. When they did the chest x-ray to confirm the pneumonia they also checked the spot that they found back in May on her right lung. It's still there, but thankfully it hasn't grown any larger. This lung doctor will hopefully be able to find out once and for all why she is so prone to pneumonia and what that spot is on her lung. I'm not a doctor, but I'm guessing that maybe they have something to do with eachother. I'm kind of hoping that we can kill 2 birds with one stone so to speak. I'll update everyone when I know more.

Well, that's it. Life as we know it in one post. Have a great day everyone!!
