Happy Birthday Sadie!!

Seven months ago there were moments, minutes and even hours that we didn't think that we would get to celebrate this day. Praise God that we are able to enjoy today and every moment that we have with her. We are so blessed to have Ms. Sadie is our lives. She has brought more joy and understanding to life than we could have expected. Every day is a new adventure with her. And we are loving EVERY moment of it! Happy birthday to the sweetest 2 year old I know. We love you very much Sadie.

PICTURES!!

Her are the pictures that I promised. We will start with paint. We had a lot of people show up to help paint. The garage alone took 3 hours to prime. Here is a picture of the color that Halie picked out. It really fits her personality.

Bathroom. laundry roon and bar cabinets have been installed too. Here are the base cabinets in the laundry room.

My brother Josh and I spent a whole afternoon building the deck for my tub and installing it. No fun. But it is done.

Ironing board and cabinet are stained and varnished. Just waiting to be installed.

Fished dropped by a couple of weeks ago to do the final instal on the fireplace/ It is ready to be used.

Yesterday the boys were able to trim out the basement. I'm glad to see it start going on the walls and getting off of my floor!

Dad and Craig started hanging ceiling grid yesterday also. It will be nice to have the panels up.

Here are Joe and Josh putting up the bi-fold doors on the closets.

My free pantry door!!!!! Love it!

UPdate with no pictures....yet!

We have been VERY busy since my last blog. Unfortunately I don't have time to upload any pictures right now. But I will soon. I promise! Since the last time I wrote we've finished painting (except for touch ups). Halie's room will crack you up. It is so her personality! We've also finished all of the electric except for 2 lights, hung all cabinets except for kitchen cabinets (which are being custom built), ordered trim, stainined and varnished trim, hung doors, put up ceiling fans, finished brick and I'm ordering carpet and tile this morning. That's a lot in a couple of weeks!! The plan this week is to finished all varnishing and to hang trim. Kitchen cabinets will be installed this weekend too. Everyone keeps asking when we are going to move in. I don't know. I know what I hope and what would be the perfect time between work, school and everything else. But I'm not making any promises to myself. I'm sticking to my original answer of " We would like to move in by my birthday, February 23rd. But if the house is finished sooner that would be great!". Let's hope for that. Pictures soon to come!!!

Almost There....

Mud and tapers came last week. It's taken them a while because the mud hasn't been drying very well due to the weather. Today is thier last day though.
All in all they did a pretty good job.

My brick is finally tied together!! Bill is just about done with it. This should be his last week. He still has what is left in this picture, the porch, steps and columns.

On Saturday we blew the insulation in the attic. It was a nasty and awful job. So glad that it is done. Craig was being silly before he climbed up in the attic.

It took 150 bags to cover the whole attic to the R value that we wanted. That is a TON of insulation.
Today the finishers are doing the knock down ceiling. Tomorrow we are painting!!! Cabinets are here too. Should be installing those this weekend. I'm ordering trim this week. Staining and varnishing will take a while. Then it's flooring, guttering, finishing dirt work, finish plumbing, finish electrical, deck and driveway. Still a ways to go.

Halloween with a house update

It was a wild and crazy weekend to say the least. I had surgery on Thursday (long story), we spent the weekend at my mom's, finished hanging drywall and to top it off we had an awesome Halloween. Here are a few pictures of the events.

Cody went as scream again this year. He played the same part a couple of years ago.

My family hadn't gotten the chance to see Hanah cheer yet. So she dressed up as a vampire cheerleader.

Halie went as a goth girl. What's scary about this is that it is so fitting. I could see her coming home one day with her hair dyed black. Ugh....

Then little Miss Strawberry Shortcake showed up and decided to trick or treat with us!! She was such a doll in her costume!!

Craig had a great time trick or treating with them too. He's such a sucker for Halloween.

Now...house update. On Saturday and Sunday the boys were able to put up a bunch of the soffet. What isn't up still needs to be bricked.

Here is the north side...ALL DONE!!!

More Sheet Rock Pictures!!!!

Here are a few pictures from today. They will be finishing up hanging drywall tomorrow. The finishers are coming in the afternoon. This is the garage.

Here is the laundry room and built in ironing board.

Cody being very silly in the master bath.

The living room. Coat closet, built in oak shelving and fireplace.

Hanah's closet.

It's Time To Rock!!

Sheetrock was here yesterday!!! The stockers showed up around 9 and unloaded the truck with a crane on the back. There was a TON of sheet rock. The whole truck plu a trailer behind it.

When they unloaded everything they did it by room layout. It was very interesting....

These are the first few pieces of sheet rock that they put up. It's so crazy to see a ceiling now. I'm so used to being able to look up through the rafters.
Bill has been doing AWESOME on the brick. He's working on the south side now. Just about a week and a half left to go. He loves it when I'm out there taking his picture! =)

Exhausted and excited for the short break!!

It's been a while since I've updated this thing. But I've been literally living at the new house. My dad & I have spent every day out there running the electrical and plumbing. Mom has helped out a lot too. Helping with the insulation and jet tub amongst other things. Drew and a few other guys helped us out with the HVAC. They knocked it out in a couple of days. Here are the supplies that they showed up with.
This weekend we finished up roughing in the plumbing. These are the manifolds with all of the hot and cold water lines.

My AWESOME sister in law Karen came down Saturday and Sunday to help with various odds and ends. She is always a lot of fun to be around. So glad that she had time to come help!!

Sheet rockers are coming tomorrow. I had to hang a sign for them to point out where my built in ironing board is going.

We also put some plywood up in the attic for Craig to walk on when he sparys insulation in a couple of weeks. He will be glad that it's up there.

Bar is all plumbed in and ready for drywall!!

All of the tubs and showers were set this weekend too. Karen covered them with cardboard before the finishers come.

I'll have lots of pictures this week. I'm taking the week off because the sheetrockers and finishers will be working.

A Week's Review...House and OU Game!!!

It's been a productive week or so. Last Friday Craig and I left on our anniversary trip to go to the OU vs. Texas (red River Rivalry) game in Dallas at the Cotton Bowl Stadium. It was an awesome trip! Definately wroth a repeat. The morning of the day that we were leaving we went out to help roof the house. We decided to put a metal roof on instead of shingles.
Here is us in our hotel room the morning of the big game. Craig was not up for pictures, but he took them anyway. We were pretty excited to get to the Teas State Fair and check out the stadium. Okay....I was pretty excited about getting into all of the different food stands too.
Our seats were pretty decent. During warm up we were able to go down to the field and take pictures. There were only about 10 or so of us that took pictures.

There's the giant screen!!!

Now it's back to work at the house. On Monday I started hanging the elctrical boxes for all of the outlets, switches and phone jacks.

Then the boys started pulling wire downstairs while they wanted on a metal delivery to finish the roof. Thanks for all of your help Mr. Simon!!!

And of course you too Dad! I didn't get any pictures of Josh though. Or maybe be just deleted them from my camera....

Bill Hamilton was able to start bricking on Thursday. I'm really happy with the color and design of brick that we went with. It's so exciting to see it go up.

Got the basement finished framing! All walls are now furred out.
Brock and Derek finished up this week by Tyveking the house and a few odds and ins.

This week I've started putting up the blue electrical boxes and plan to pull wire today. The metal roof should be finished tomorrow also. I'll post pictures as soon as I can. OH...and pictures of the mini vacation that Craig and I took last weekend.

A long weekend.....

I had a goal. An easy goal I though. But then again everything "sounds easy". My goal for this weekend was to connect the electric, well and septic to the house. Not a big deal right? I didn't account for the fact that it was Fall Fest weekend, the possibility that it would storm and the amount of work that was involved. Before the fun began, Brock was able to get our stairs built. Swas very happy.

My brother in law Trent was kind enough to come out and run the excavator that we used to dig the holes for the electric, septic and well lines. He's not a fan of using a shovel, but liked running the control for the bucket on this machine. =)

We were very fortunate to have my dad here this weekend to help out. The electric lines and well went pretty quick and easy. But the septic took FOREVER!! The phone company didn't come out to flag the phone lines, so we spent almost 3 hours digging with shovels to try and find it. No fun.

They delivered the first part of our brick today! Bill should start next week. We meet with him in a couple of days to make some final decisions.
Tomorrow windows, doors and house wrap are the plan. I should get lots of pictures of that!
